Interesting uses for Toothpaste

Who knew that toothpaste could be so versatile? I ran out of jewelry cleaner the other day, and decided to use toothpaste to clean my gold necklace, ring, and earrings. The results were phenomenal! I tested it on my watch and a piece of silver, and was thrilled with the results. I used a small soft toothbrush, but a piece of cloth will work just as well. Apply the toothpaste to the toothbrush or cloth, and buff away. Tom’s Natural Toothpaste (non-gel) with Baking Soda is the brand of choice in our house.

Here are a few other interesting uses for toothpaste:

It works on removing scuffs from shoes and the rubber parts of sneakers. Place a small amount directly on the areas that need cleaning, and use a soft cloth to scrub away. Then wipe with a damp cloth.

A friend passed this one along. She uses toothpaste every once and awhile to clean the bottom of her clothes iron. She uses a rag to scrub, and then wipes it clean with a damp cloth.

I also used it on kitchen and bathroom chrome. Yes, I went around the house trying the toothpaste on anything I could think of. Armed with a cloth, I scrubbed and then rinsed, or used a damp cloth to wipe clean. It also worked on parts of the stove and refrigerator.

Happy buffing!
